Curaçao
Curacao: A tropical island in the Caribbean Sea, and the largest island of the Netherlands Antilles off the coast of Venezuela. It is one of the best holiday destinations and has much to offer visitors. An island full of good surprises!
Curacao has pearl white beaches, the kind of which you normally only see in movies. “The Big Cut”, “Port Marie” or “Cas Abou (Bonbini Beach”: There are many beaches to choose from, all within a few minutes to half an hour’s drive. You can rent a lounger and spoil yourself with fresh fruit cocktails and professional massages. The beaches are also ideally suited for snorkeling adventures!
Curacao has a rich history and has a lot to offer in cultural value. It’s not without reason that Willemstad is on the list of cultural heritages compiled by UNESCO. The magnificent 17th century architecture, artistic colours and friendly people make this it a must-see place for any visitor to the island. One of its cultural highlights is the Queen Emma Bridge: The only floating wooden bridge in the world, with a length of almost 170 meters.
Of course, you don’t have to leave the garden of your villa to enjoy the beautiful nature of Curacao, but if you want to see the best, unspoiled natural places of Curacao, you might want to consider a visit to Christoffel Park, or the Shete Boka National Park. You will find ruins and artifacts of old civilizations and detailed history of life on the plantations, as well as the gorgeous indigenous flora and fauna.
For diving, you can’t beat Curacao. As stunning as the nature on the island itself is, underneath the surface it is at least equalled in diversity and appearance. You don’t have to travel far in order to enjoy a good dive either: At the Habitat Hotel, only a few minutes walk away, is a diving school with various diving activities and training. The diving fanatic will find plenty to enjoy himself with and has the opportunities to enjoy some of the world’s most beautiful diving spots. Well known among experienced divers are, among others, Punti Sanchi and the enchanting shipwreck: Superior Producer, found in the Double Reef.
There’s also plenty to do for the smaller visitors to the island. Near Willsemstad you can find the world famous Dolphin Academy: Will your child become an assistant trainer? Or you could take the whole family to ride horses, take a jeep and go on safari, visit an ostrich farm or participate in the jet-ski tour.
Curacao never stops to entertain or amaze: You will find plenty to do around Villa “Zeezicht”, no matter how long your stay!
